NYX PARIS and LOUISIANA: Quick Product Overview

Online reviews and forums helped me a lot when choosing a lipstick shade specially for products exclusively available over the net. And since i have purchased some lipsticks online, i would also like to give back a little and do a mini review or swatching of the product. So here it is..

As I've said in my earlier post, I've been going gaga over lipsticks. And As promised, i will be doing a quick swatching/opinion writing/review of some of the lipsticks i have..

**P.S. I'm not really good at describing colors, so also check out the pictures for your reference.. =)

First stop are my NYX round lippies, LOUISIANA and PARIS:

NYX Lipsticks are velvety lipstick formulated with mineral oils provides moisturizing benefits and rich colors. NYX’s top selling lipstick, the Round Lipstick offers long-lasting, non-smudging color.

They have wide variety of colors from nude lipsticks to deep bold red lipsticks to pink, orange and black. And for something that is available online the range of colors can be quite overwhelming. And also, choosing colors base on their swatches online can be quite confusing and i can say unreliable. So researching online, really is a BIG PLUS factor when choosing a shade.

Since i have been going crazy about pinks these days, here are the two shades i bought:

           NYX Round Lipstick: PARIS
Paris
(with flash)
Paris when swatched on my skin
It's a pink shade with a velvety cream finish. It's quite similar to Etude House's dear darling PK002 only way CHEAPER. If you want a pink lipstick without overdoing the barbie lips way, on an everyday basis. This is the shade for you.

NYX PARIS
             PROS:
         - creamy and very pigmented
         - the shade can be worn itself
         - can be use on a daily basis
        - CHEAP, cheap, cheap. and OH! did i mentioned, CHEAP?.. =)

    CONS:
    - available only online (unless, your online shop participates in a bazaar)
       - poor staying power (would stay atleast 1-2 hours without eating and drinking)
       - would need reapplication, which i don't mind
       - smell isn't that good. again, i don't mind

         Will I Purchase again? YES
         OVERALL VERDICT would be: 4.5/5,

NYX Round Lipstick: LOUISIANA
LOUISIANA
(without flash)
Louisiana when swatched on my skin
Louisiana is a bold pink shade cream finish lipstick. If you're going out on a party clubbing, this shade would be perfect. However, on a daily basis, as i've said it's too bold and too SCREAMING pink. But if you really want to use it, a lighter dabbing application would do the work. It's actually a dark-reddish pink shade.

NYX LOUISIANA
LEFT: with normal application, RIGHT: with lighter application.
           PROS:
         - creamy and very pigmented
         - non-drying (atleast for my lips)
         - again, it's CHEAP (P150-200/tube + shipping fee)

    CONS:
       - too BOLD / reddish when worn on a daily basis (specially in the morning),but again, a lighter application will do the trick ;)
       - available only online
      - poor staying power (would stay atleast 1-2 hours without eating and drinking)

Will I Purchase again? No. Maybe i'll try a different shade ;)
  OVERALL VERDICT would be: 3.5/5

          NYX LIPSTICK VERDICT:
For something that costs around P150-200 (roughly $4) and from an international company, this product could go a long way. And from a wide variety of shades, this product is such a great bargain. It's colors are comparable and the quality also says a lot from it's price.
